PCANFD / PRO Application Profile
The PCANFD / PRO application profile connects supported CANmeleon devices to PCAN CAN FD workflows, including CAN/CAN FD traffic, DBC-based analysis, and PCAN-Basic development.
Install or switch the application
Use CANmeleon device manager to install, update, or switch this application profile. The device-manager guide is maintained in Chinese by Kunhong.
Retired Vector bridge workflow
The former PCANFD-to-Vector virtual-channel bridge is deprecated and retained only for existing deployments. New Vector workflows should use a device that supports the Vector VN1610 application profile. Existing users can consult the legacy bridge documentation in Chinese.
Software
| Software | Typical use | Obtain it | Guide | Scope |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| PCAN-View | CAN/CAN FD traffic, status, error frames, and trace capture | Install from the current PCAN driver package provided by PEAK-System | PCAN-View guide | CAN and CAN FD configuration depend on the installed driver and application package |
| EcuBus-Pro | CAN FD communication, diagnostics, recording, and automation | EcuBus-Pro installation | EcuBus-Pro quick start | Select a PEAK/PCAN-FD device path |
| TSMaster | Bus analysis, monitoring, and scripted tests | TSMaster download center | TSMaster quick start | Check the selected driver path and channel capabilities before testing |
| PCAN-Explorer | DBC analysis and project workflows | Obtain through the software vendor or an authorized channel | DBC debugging | Confirm compatibility against the installed PCAN driver and PCAN-Explorer release |
Drivers
| Platform | Path | Guide |
|---|---|---|
| Windows | Install the current PCAN driver package, then verify the device in PCAN-View | Windows driver installation |
| Linux | Use the PCAN Linux driver or a supported SocketCAN path; CAN FD availability depends on the driver, kernel, and detected device profile | Linux driver installation |
Development
| Library | Environment | Guide |
|---|---|---|
| PCAN-Basic API | C/C++, C#, Java, Python, and other bindings supplied with the current package; use the CAN FD API where required | PCAN-Basic API |
| python-can | Python automation through the PCAN backend; requires a working PCAN driver | python-can PCAN interface |
Application availability and interoperability remain scoped to the connected device, application package, driver, operating system, and software version. Record those details when reporting an issue.
