PCAN User Guide
This section covers the normal path from PCAN driver installation to traffic inspection, DBC analysis, and PCAN-Basic development.
1. Install and Verify the Driver
Install the current PCAN driver package for your operating system, connect the adapter, and confirm that the channel appears before opening another application.
2. Inspect CAN Traffic
Use PCAN-View to select a detected channel, configure the matching bit rate and bus mode, transmit a test frame, and inspect status or trace output.
3. Work with DBC Files
See DBC debugging for the message and signal workflow. DBC parsing depends on the selected software and its installed version.
4. Develop with PCAN-Basic
The PCAN-Basic API guide explains package layout, channel discovery, initialization, read/write operations, and CAN FD considerations.
Before reporting a compatibility result, record the hardware model, CANmeleon application profile and version when applicable, driver, operating system, software or library version, tested functions, limitations, and date.
