Vector VN1610 Application Profile

The Vector VN1610 application profile lets supported CANmeleon devices use a VN1610 device path in Vector workflows. The intended Windows workflow uses Vector Driver Setup and a physical channel in tools such as CANoe, CANalyzer, CANape, or applications built with the Vector XL Driver Library.

Install or switch the application

Use CANmeleon device manager to install, update, or switch this application profile. The linked platform guide is maintained in Chinese by Kunhong.

Workflow

  1. Install a current Vector Driver Setup package that lists VN1610 support.
  2. Connect the device and confirm that the VN1610 device path is visible in Windows and the Vector hardware configuration tool.
  3. Select the physical channel in your Vector application.
  4. Confirm the channel, bit rate, bus state, and required CAN/CAN FD mode before recording test results.

SysMax does not currently maintain a Linux driver workflow for this application profile.

Development

The Vector XL Driver Library / vxlapi supports native applications, while python-can provides a Vector backend for Python workflows. Obtain the library and documentation through Vector's current release channel and keep the installed Vector driver as the source of the runtime components.

Application availability and interoperability remain scoped to the connected hardware, application package, driver, operating system, licensed software release, tested functions, and test date.
