CAN interfaces can support equipment commissioning, data acquisition, controller integration, and maintenance workflows when the project network uses CAN or CAN FD. The interface and software path must match the bus topology, protocol, bit timing, operating environment, and required API.
Typical Workflows
- observe controller, sensor, or actuator traffic on a test network;
- record equipment-state data during commissioning;
- transmit controlled test frames from an engineering workstation;
- automate repeatable checks through a supported API;
- decode project signals with an approved database;
- investigate wiring, bit-timing, termination, and error-frame problems.
Start with the Required Ecosystem
Choose the CANmeleon application profile that corresponds to the driver and software used by the project. Then verify the connected hardware and application availability in CANmeleon device manager before installing third-party software or writing integration code.
